With winter weather arriving in the region, two Carter County churches are stepping up to serve the community as warming stations. Deliverance Church of God and Doe River Baptist Church will open their doors starting Thursday at 6 p.m. and remain available until Sunday at 8 a.m., providing a safe haven from the cold for those in need.
The City of Elizabethton announced on Wednesday that Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, though currently focused on flood recovery and relief efforts, has partnered with these local churches to enhance warming station services throughout the winter.
